Well, it's been a while

Unfortunately I couldn't get my travel blog from my time in Jordan and Hawaii to cooperate, so I had to start anew. That's ok though; much has changed in 5+ years!

The first question that most people ask, and I'm sure many of you are wondering too, is WHY ICELAND???!!

I've heard the following when telling people that's where I'll be heading for our delayed honeymoon:

But, it's cold there.
Why didn't you go to the beach??!
Was this your idea or Andrew's?
Is Iceland the one that's all ice, or is that Greenland?
What do they eat there?

I'll attempt to answer all of them on our two week trek around the Island. But first, the basics.

Iceland is a small country of about 350,000 people in the middle of the North Atlantic. Go look at a map, it's what they are there for. They don't have an active military. It's one of the safest countries in the world --bank fraud is the number one crime. Hell, the current Prime Minister resigned after the Panama Papers were leaked and the guy that's leading the polls for his replacement is a history professor.

and....

According to Lonely Planet, a large percentage of the population still believes in gnomes. (I'm just going to leave this here)

About our trip:
1 rental car
20+ hours of open road
10 Air BNB stops
1 whale watching tour
1 horseback ride excursion
1 day of glacier hiking
1 day at the Blue Lagoon
A trip to an organic green house, a geothermal plant
countless waterfalls.

I'm going to try to blog daily, but all I have is my iPhone, so my thumbs might get tired.
Let the adventuring begin!
